The Kurilian Bobtail is a breed of long-haired cats bred on the islands of Kunashir, Paramushir and Shishel in the northern part of the Kuril chain.
The name of the breed comes from the island of Kunashir (Kuril Islands), where this breed was bred. The Kurilian Bobtail is distinguished by its proud posture and independent character, but at the same time it is very friendly and affectionate.
