The Cairn Terrier is one of the oldest breeds of Scottish terriers, having long specialized in catching foxes and rats. This is an energetic and aggressive companion dog with a rough, topless coat and pointed, erect ears.
The Cairn Terrier was once a professional hunter, but is now a compact, muscular, cheerful, tireless athlete who loves to play outside. Like other representatives of the terrier group, Khan is curious and fantastically adventurous when he needs to find something to do, but at the same time he is surprisingly friendly and sociable. There is no happier and more well-fed creature than the Khan Terrier, which is not inferior to its owner either in bicycle rides, or in mushroom hunting, or in leisurely walks around the city.
  The Cairn Terrier is the quintessential member of the terrier family, so be prepared for endless curiosity, giddy chirping, instant reactions and mischief when you welcome him into your home. They are also very outgoing and love to show people how smart and athletic they are.
  The Cairn Terrier is an owner who does not accept the concept of "common property." They enjoy playing catch with children, chasing a ball or bringing a ball to them, but if their personal property (toys or bones) is encroached upon, they will respond with a convincing “Woof!” or they will respond with a warning growl. In other everyday situations, the breed demonstrates extremely peaceful behavior. The exception is when the owner's life is threatened by another dog.   Almost all modern Han Terriers have “surrendered” their hunting powers and live happily in city apartments, but one should not think that they have said goodbye to the pursuit instincts forever. It is sacred for the Khan Terrier to look for moles that were once here, to cultivate newly planted flower beds and to give stray cats a heart attack. Reconciling a dog with other pets is not easy. This comrade sees the four-legged creature as a direct competitor and must be neutralized as soon as possible. No, the khan is by no means bloodthirsty and will “survive” rivals from his territory in other ways: squealing, barking, light biting and chasing.
  Cairn Terriers are active, cheerful dogs, smart and good-natured. For the Khan Terrier, attention and communication with the owner are very important. With proper training, they make ideal companions for people with active lifestyles and are loved by everyone as excellent family dogs.
